Nelly Quijano, Mexican photographer, she was born in San Francisco de Campeche, Mexico. She studied Journalism and Communication Sciences at the InsItuto Campechano. Photography has always been her passion, so she decided to study the Diploma in Digital Photography at F2 Estación Visual in 2014 in Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico. She works mainly doing nature, portrait, fashion and product photography.
She has participated in different group exhibitions such as “LA OTRA CARA DEL
CANCER” in the cities of Mérida and Campeche simultaneously in October 2016 and “HALA KEN” Strengthening actions against gender violence with the SGG of Yucatán and SEDECULTA in April 2018.
In 2023, two of its underwater photographs were selected by Climate Visuals to support communication on climate change at the global level. Three of her photographs of the cenotes of Yucatan were placed in billboards in CDMX during this year’s Tianguis Turístico.
Her underwater photographs have been shared in National Geographic digital publications, CNN en Español and Pronatura Mexico.
Being born on the coast has allowed her to always have contact with the sea, with water being an element of her comfort in December 2019 she managed to make her dream of being able to dive with the camera and enter the world of underwater photography come true and thus manage to unite two of her great passions. She considers that the best thing photography has given her is the opportunity to click with people. It is very important for her to take some time to contemplate in nature, to charge energy to be inspired and flow.
For her, the most important thing is to enjoy taking the photograph and to do it with love.
